My Avatar: Toss writers Block in the Bin!

I am on a journey to move forward. To grow. So I’ve read Atomic Habits a couple of times in the past year or so. (h/t to my Vegan SuperHero Academy Coach! Thanks, Nathan)

Levels of Change (James Clear, Atomic Habits)

I took one of James Clear’s suggestions to heart: to change myself at the level of identity — the deepest level at the heart of my being. (see the links below)

One of his suggestions (and one I’ve seen elsewhere) is to make an avatar… an alter ego… that represents the identity you want to have. The image above represents my writers alter ego, and my wildest dream. If I got anywhere close to writing like Ursula K. Le Guin writes, I could hang up my hat in peace. I just wouldn’t hang up my pen!

Why pick an avatar? To represent my identity in a picture.

Why not just change at the outer rings of process or outcome? That would be changing my habits/environment or making new goals. Those are an important part of making a change too.

But if my identity is at odds with my outer self, then I am struggling against myself.
